Individuals who choose to participate in the Salaam Program are leaders in service, passionate about social change, and open to intercultural dialogue.  We expect our participants to fully engage themselves in the hosting chapter's activities, especially those that involve the sharing of cultural experiences.  Participants should be willing to learn about the Arab and Islamic culture in their host country, but also to share with others their own cultural values. 

We also look for participants who have demonstrated enthusiasm and open-mindedness for cultural exchange, robustness of intellect, willingness to learn, and flexibility under unexpected situations.

In short, we want our participants to be driven by the 5 key principles of AIESEC:

2. Developing self-awareness and personal vision
3. Increasing capacity - in theoretical knowledge and putting them into practice
   
4. Building a network
5. Challenging worldview
