AIESEC United Arab Emirates
AIESEC United Arab Emirates' parent country was AIESEC in India, who had taken the initiative of expanding AIESEC into the UAE in the year 2001. Khalil Bachooali, MC VP AIESEC in India 2001-2002, was responsible for initiating the extension in the United Arab Emirates. Lalit Ramchandani is the Founder and was the first President of AIESEC in the United Arab Emirates from September 2001 to June 2004. Mohamed Aslum was the first envoy from AIESEC in India to AIESEC in the United Arab Emirates in 2002. Deepak Nair was the second envoy from AIESEC in India to AIESEC in the United Arab Emirates in 2003.
AIESEC UAE was officially given the status of an extension country in February 2002 at International Presidents Meeting in Malta. In February 2004, AIESEC UAE was given full membership status at the International Presidents Meeting in Sri Lanka. Today, AIESEC UAE operates out of Dubai, the capital of the UAE. In 2009, AIESEC UAE hosted 21 interns from abroad. | Learn more!
